1. WHAT DOES THERMAGE® FLX TREATMENT LOOK LIKE ?

Thermage® FLX treatment begins with a consultation. At this time, we will determine if treatment is appropriate for your needs and desired goals.
The consultation process plays an integral role in the overall outcome. We will discuss your expectations and what you hope to achieve. Your age, the number of areas treated, and the quality of your skin can all affect the results.
Before we start, our beautician nurse draws the grids on the skin, which helps guide the application. The therapist will then apply the handpiece over the grid area, with each pulse lasting about half a second until the treatment is complete.

2. WHO IS THERMAGE® FLX SUITABLE FOR ?

Thermage® FLX is suitable for those seeking firmer skin. It is suitable for treating wrinkles and sagging, thinning aging skin. This is a versatile treatment option that can be used on most areas of the face and body. This treatment is suitable for all skin types.

3. WHEN CAN I SEE THE EFFECT OF THERMAGE® FLX ?

You may see some immediate improvement, but results from this treatment are usually gradual, with optimal improvements reaching around six months and more noticeable improvements when combined with other treatments and skin care.
Results can last from one to three years, depending on the patient. Avoiding smoking, drinking, excessive sun exposure and poor lifestyle habits can also prevent accelerated depletion of collagen and elastin.

4. HOW LONG DOES THERMAGE® FLX TREATMENT TAKE ?

Treatment time is approximately 60-90 minutes, depending on the number and size of areas treated. Thermage® FLX face and eye treatments take approximately 60 minutes, and face, neck and eye treatments approximately 90 minutes.
Thermage® FLX provides each patient with a larger disposable tip that can cover a larger area at any time than older generation Thermage, which means treatment is faster without compromising the end result.

5. HOW DOES THERMAGE® FLX WORK ?

With sun damage being a big cause, our collagen levels start to drop. The elastin fibers that give skin its elasticity also wear out and break over time. This can lead to accelerated aging, manifested by an advanced chin, wrinkling of the skin on the face and body, and sagging of the lower face.
Thermage® FLX uses radiofrequency energy, which is delivered deep into the dermis to remodel existing collagen and elasticity while inducing the production of new collagen, resulting in a firming and plumping effect on the treated area.

6. IS THERE A RECOVERY PERIOD FOR THERMAGE® FLX ?

Most people who receive treatment experience few side effects and return to normal activities immediately. Occasionally, some mild swelling or redness may occur. The swelling usually subsides within 1 week and the redness usually subsides within 4 hours.
If you notice anything unusual or have any concerns after treatment, please feel free to contact us.

7. HOW MANY THERMAGE® FLX SESSIONS ARE NEEDED FOR ONE TREATMENT ?

Only one treatment is required, but we recommend annual treatments to maintain results.

8. IS THERMAGE® FLX TREATMENT PAINFUL ?

Everyone will experience different sensations, depending on their pain tolerance and the area being treated. Typically, areas closer to bones are more sensitive to heat. The new system features selectable vibration modes that disperse discomfort and make treatments more tolerable. The latest Thermage® FLX system is designed to provide greater pain relief than Thermage® CPT.
We do not apply anesthetic cream before this treatment. Using local anesthetics can increase the risk of adverse reactions such as blisters or burns. We recommend not using numbing cream before treatment, but you can take painkillers before treatment.

9. WHO SHOULD AVOID THERMAGE® FLX ?

The Thermage® FLX system is contraindicated for use in patients with an implantable pacemaker, an automatic implantable cardioverter / defibrillator (AICD), or any other implantable electrical device, as these devices may be adversely affected by radiofrequency (RF) field or current.
Besides, the manufacturer Solta Medical has not studied the use of the Thermage® FLX system in people who are pregnant and/or breast feeding, are diabetic.

10. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THERMAGE® FLX AND BIPOLAR COLLAGEN STIMULATOR (BCS) IN REVIVEYOU FACIALS ?

Thermage® FLX only requires one treatment, but the results take several months for skin to reach optimal condition. In contrast, BCS requires a series of treatments to achieve comparable results, with results improving with each subsequent treatment.
Both techniques use radiofrequency energy, but Thermage® FLX uses monopolar and the other uses bipolar radiofrequency. Thermage® FLX may give stronger feeling during the procedure than the BCS. However, Thermage® FLX is regarded one of the best options for nonsurgical tissue tightening.
